Police in Queensland are investigating reports of children being kidnapped by a man who has been living in their home.
The ABC’s Louise Kroll reports.
Queensland Police say the man, who has not been identified, has made a number of reports of child sexual exploitation, including one to police in the Townsville area of Queensland in which the man claims he was sexually abused as a child.
Police said the man’s complaint was lodged in July.
“He’s been living there since and he’s been making complaints about this man for some time now,” Detective Superintendent David Meehan said.
He said the woman has not come forward and no police officers were called to the man and his home, but he is in custody and detectives continue to investigate.
A number of people have come forward in recent days with similar complaints and the man has been taken into custody.
Detective Superintendent Meehans advice is that people who are concerned about this should contact police.
Anyone who has information that can assist police is urged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
